Fragmentation

Danish Philosopher Anders Fogh Jensen takes a look at fragmentation. Psychological fragmentation: dilemma and regret, and metaphysical fragmentation: the world is fundamentally divided and this is reflected in our myths that tell about how the world began by becoming separated.

He guides us through the the Greek creation myth, Eden, the Romantic Period, which built an entire philosophy around fragmentation, Nietzsche’s view of fragmentation, Freud, who turned fragmentation into a clinically normal state of being and on to our relationship to fragmentation today, which is, well, postmodern or simply contemporary. This is a history of fragmentation from cosmos to clinic.
